Past Mission Threads / dynomen-assault / sickle rescue
Avatar
One of the Sickle corvettes was destroyed in the fighting. It represents the lone CBSS loss, but 240 marines, sailors, and other trained crew are aboard. It is expected that not many survivors will be found amid the tumbling junk, but a life saved is a life saved. Lubya and the vessel they are aboard drift as close as possible to the wreckage, where the ship has split into three distinct chunks, the bow, the core, and the engines, along with the decks around them.
Avatar
Lubya orders his Cruiser to align with the bow and begin using its boarding tubes. This is safest for his ship to prevent accidents from tertiary explosions from the core or engins.
1:17 PM
(does the motherland come with any sort of away craft or shuttles? It doesnt say so on the sheet.)
Avatar
(No, what it says on the sheet is all we have)
Avatar
When the boarding tubes connect Lyuba and any doctors from the extended medbay are ready to push into the wreackage and locate personel. (If the ships armory has a bioscanner to assist in locating survivors Lyuba would grab one leaving behind his survey scanner.)
Avatar
(It would. Which section of the wreckage are we starting with)
Avatar
(Lets start with the Core. Anyone there needs help the most with time not on our side.)
Avatar
The sickle is not a vessel that was meant for boarding. It looks like an eva walk out to the core is the only way you’re going to be able to find anyone , but you will have to work fast
Avatar
Lyuba would get himself into a vacc suit along with any volunteers to cut into the ship and help the sailors
Avatar
(fix/int)
Avatar
Cutting through the bulkhead on the western side of the vessel , the makeshift hatch is pushed inwards. Foam is sprayed on the edges of the cut to keep from accidently tearing anything on the razor sharp metal and it looks like you've tunneled into the ship galley.
Avatar
Pushing into the galley Lyuba turns on a glowbug so he can see if there is any dark areas on the ship and orders his volunteers to spread out and work fast.
Avatar
It seems you’re the only one going aboard , better to lose one in the hopes of saving others than need to wait for an extraction If a chunk goes critical. You can hear a dull pounding in the hallway beyond the galley hatch on the far side of the room
Avatar
(Would opening the hatch lead to whatever is behind the hatch to hard vacume to the outside? And if so where can I find an instant-Pannel)
Avatar
(It would but everyone on a ship wears a ship suit so it wouldn’t matter )
Avatar
Lyuba hearing the noise would soar over and knock back trying to discover what is holding the hatch and opening it
Avatar
Upon opening the hatch you see a fire damaged hallway. Wreckage has fallen from the ceiling and you can see two men on the other side trying to dig it out of their way, but are not strong enough to get one of the large beams un-wedged from its position.
Avatar
Lyuba calls out to them allowing them to see me and I will assist them with moving the Debris in their way together.
Avatar
(exert/str)
Avatar
You're able to dig deep within the reserves of strength within yourself and pry the beam up, causing the rest of the wreckage to tumble away into a looser pile, which is quickly thrown aside allowing the hallway to be accessed
Avatar
I ask the men if they know of any others still trapped inside before ushering the men towards the exit point
Avatar
They're not sure, they've been cut off from the rest of the ship and wandering felt like a bad idea to them.
Avatar
"Alright sailors on your way the path is clear. Im going to try keep going deeper then well pass onto the other sections." Lyuba keeps searching using his Bioscanner to assist him.
Avatar
(don't see where we got one in any of our shopping, and its not on your sheet, normally it wouldnt matter but the ship locker is inaccessible from where you are)
Avatar
(It may have not have transfered since I left my page open too long and I had to reload it. I did say that happend though before I entered the ship so I feel comfortable letting you decide if I have it or not.)

(This one just for easy finding)
Avatar
(alright, the post wasn't edited, so that's fine)
2:53 PM
You get two other lifesigns from a room at the end of the junction where the hatch has been fused shut by the way decks have compacted on one another.
Avatar
(Editing sheet now switching out the survey scanner. Thanks)
Avatar
(Donezo with that. Does Lyuba know if he can find anything on board this part of the ship to mealt through the door. Or is it possible to make my lazer pistol into a makeshift explosive by overcharging it to try and uncompact the door enough?)
Avatar
(the locker and armory were not part of this module. I would need a fix/int for trying to turn your handgun into a bomb)
Avatar
(6) Going to use my Expert Re-Roll to try again)

Avatar
You’re able to rig the cell and gun to completely explode once you set it into a position.
Avatar
I shout to the men to back up and get behind cover as I set the explosive and run to find my own cover.
Avatar
(Evasion save)
Avatar
(Fail 8/9)
Avatar
The explosion ignites the loose gassed slowly trickling out of ruptured pipes and tubes, resulting in a boom dozens of times more powerful than intended. (15 damage )
Avatar
(😬 Damn!! I should have checked that.) Patting out a fire that bites into one of his joint seals he realizes his seal is intact. After that he realizes he wont die right away he runs over to the sailors to see if they suffered as bad as he did
Avatar
They’re dead. The hatch has been blown open and the shrapnel has punctured their suits.
Avatar
(no chance to save them? I have only a medkit sadly)
Avatar
(It was an explosion. Heavy weapon damage so no)
Avatar
(double damn.) Lyuba looks on at these two and grabs their tags deciding to compartmentalize rather than look on his actions yet. He pulls free his bioscanner again to see if he can find anyone else or if he needs to depart to othet section's.
Avatar
It seems like everyone here has either been rescued or is now dead.
Avatar
Lyuba nods his head to his display then charges to the ship again going to have it orient to the engine section
Avatar
The engine section is aflame as you get close to it, pumping fuel keeping the fires going on the ship exterior and down its back for now. Eventually it will run out and the lack of air will finish choking things off , but by then it will be too late for everyone inside. The ship gets as close as it can before you’re forced to space walk over to the damaged section
Avatar
Lyuba on route getting over to the ship would see if he can get any medical attention before he does his space walk over.
Avatar
(Nothing on hand is going to heal you fast enough, without you taking a dex penalty )
Avatar
(I am at 13 hp and I think me going out again like this is less dangerous than the lowering of dex cuz I dont have die hard.)
12:41 PM
(Ik we dont have lift freely accessable right? So what would I be using again?)
Avatar
(Healing powder from the frontier Medicine)
12:41 PM
(We do not have access to lift )
Avatar
(I'll take it. Do you want me to roll for hp gained or you want that?)
Avatar
(You can)
Avatar
(+3hp and -2 to my dex)
2:32 PM
The medical bay is suddenly invaded by Lyuba looking around in his suit. Finding the locker for healing powder he tears the door open to reveal the healing powder its fragrant smell bearly covering the smell of burns. As he takes out a clump of it he bites his cheek to pour it on the leg wound he received. A muffled scream later the powder does seal up the wound but now Lyuba has a clear stiffness to his leg
2:33 PM
Feeling better minorly he reseals his helmet and goes forth to the space walk. Hoping to find exposed coridors to enter through.
Avatar
(notice/wis)
Avatar
You’re able to find a place above the engines to get in, where the fire has not spread. Approaching from the crack where it broke off the rest of the ship you find the twisted central access corridor that leads into what was once the ship workshop. Jt sounds like someone might be pinned in here
Avatar
Lyuba would check his bioscanner just to be sure exactly where they are
Avatar
In hopes to find the safest way to extract this sailor
Avatar
(Yep, saw this, just had an emergency this weekend and didnt get to everyone)
7:03 AM
It looks like they have fallen into a broken space in the deck in the middle of the room, though a dense wall of fire separates you from where they have fallen.
Avatar
(I am so sorry I hadnt realized are you doing alright?)
Avatar
Lyuba would think of last times compressed wall and look an see if there would be any exposed coolant lines or fire suppress gear around him to quell the flames.
Avatar
You can see the source of the fuel leak in the ceiling, and it looks like if the pipe is crimped the fire is quickly going to lose its sustaining source of fuel.
Avatar
(Being the Engineering section of the ship is there any sort of real crimps to use around me? Or would I need to make a makeshift one.)
Avatar
(Make something )
Avatar
Lyuba would open up his survival pack and wrap his advanced weapon in the blanket. This is in hopes to prevent any sparking. With this he would attempt to use the weapon crimp the pipe himself with his unusal strength.

There is just a trickle of fuel left spilling onto the fire once you get going, and after several swings the descending trickle is lowered to almost nothing. After several seconds the air is all used up, and the flames lack their source of fuel now and begin to go out.
Avatar
With the flames finally going out he would proceed to the place the life signs were at to find more sailors
Avatar
You know one is trapped in the deck well, and upon approaching you can see there are actually three down there, huddled close together to try to shield their faces and more sensitive body parts from the flames that once had been threatening to engulf the whole apartment. They're going to need medical attention, some of it serious, but thanks to you they will survive.
Avatar
Thank goodness for that then. Lyuba would escort them to the ship and do another search to be sure nobody is left aboard.
Avatar
The bio canner also shows that there are two life signs close to the back of the engineering section near the engines
Avatar
Taking a deep gulp of air Lyuba goes back in whispering "Gods let me just get one more" Pushes off the wall and follows the signal
Avatar
It is faint, whoever is trapped in the panic room near the engines, they';re close to death. You can see the door has been activated and sealed, and the keycode for rescue workers is somewhat rubbed off from the intense heat.
Avatar
(I dont have a meta tool but could I try to hotwire the door open or even force it open with my weapon?)
Avatar
(You could try either but I won’t be able to move on anything until we know what )
Avatar
Lyuba would look to his force of arms to open this door.
Avatar
(exert/str, or we could try to make a weapon attack to hack the door down)
Avatar
(That was a check result and not a hit roll?) (edited)
Avatar
(Correct exert check yeah)
Avatar
Placing the weapon into the doorframe you give it a strong push and the hatch breaks away from the rest of the housing. THe door tumbles inwards, revealing a terrified sailor within using up what is almost the last of the air.
Avatar
Lyuba would sweep them up and rush them to the exit
Avatar
It seems as though everyone in this section is now accounted for leaving just the bridge to go
Avatar
"alright team! Weve done amazing so far and our brothers and sisters still need us. One more section to secure and well have done it!"
12:36 AM
Lyuba pushes foreward and durring the space walk try and find a decent location to enter
Avatar
Bio scanners pass over the wreckage as you get aboard and it seems like there’s nothing here. This section of the ship was especially targeted and the twisted wreckage groans from where multiple heavy impacts cored the vessel.
Avatar
"Damn." Lyuba mutters. He still tried to go throughout the ship in vain hopes but knows its fruitless. Finding nothing he heads back to his ship and has the XO officer take command and join up with the rest of the fleet. (That is unless the walkthrough finds someone then them but otherwise I think Lyuba is friggin exhausted.)
Avatar
(3xp, 5000 credits. I think we have done enough)
Avatar
(sounds great ill fix up my sheet. We headed back to Al-Thynniyan or am I off to Kols' side mission he asked me to do on his world?)
Avatar
(I am figuring that out with Kol)
💯 1
Avatar
(finished with adding my xp now btw and ready)

(Record your level up in your channel )

(no level up just xp gain. Since I wasn't sure if I was clear I concern that since I wasnt sure where I was at on the xp tracker. Sorry for confusion)
